Meridans Bar and Grill named Best Brunch in KCRA A List voters
The public venues at Sun City Lincoln Hills generated votes from enthusiastic customers elevating them into the winning categories in the annual KCRA A-List contest. In the Best Brunch category for the Sacramento Region, Meridians Bar and Grill took top honors, while Orchard Creek Lodge placed third in the Best Wedding Venue category, and the Kilaga Café is listed in the top five for Best Healthy Lunch. According to the Sun City Lincoln Hills Food and Beverage Director Jerry McCarthy, “This recognition couldn’t come at a better time for us with Mother’s Day only a week away and the height of wedding season starting weeks from now. Our brunch and breakfast buffet has been so well received because of the creative culinary talents of our Executive Chef William Jung. He is phenomenal!” As confirmation of the Best Brunch award, the Meridians Mothers’ Day menu has just been announced, and includes tantalizing fare. Traditional Prime Rib is offered in addition to Cedar Plank Roasted Vancouver Island Salmon, Seafood Newberg, Mom-Style Chicken and Dumplings, Assorted Salads, and desserts ranging from Cherries Jubilee to Christina’s Summer Berry Pound Cake Pave. Of course, a variety of pies and cobblers will be offered, along with Belgian Chocolate-dipped Strawberries. Not only is the variety and the quality of the Mother’s Day Menu amazing, so is the price: Adults (ages 13 to 89) pay $25.95; young adults (ages 6-12) pay $12.95; and children under the age of 5 – and seniors aged 90 and above – are free. Reservations are now being taken for the Mothers’ Day Brunch which will be served between the hours of 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 10. KCRA A-List Winners Include Lincoln Hills Venues In addition to Meridians being recognized with top honors by voters, Orchard Creek Lodge was selected by brides and wedding planners as one of the best wedding venues in the area. Judy Croy, Banquet Sales Manager for Orchard Creek Lodge, has worked with many delighted brides as they prepare for their wedding day inside the Lodge or at the impressive Amphitheater on the Green. “Our goal is to make their wedding vision a reality, and we’re very proud of our success in doing so.” Orchard Creek Lodge is also the site of numerous galas, fundraising events and golf awards banquets. One of the venue’s supporters stated in the A-List voting comments, “ "This is such a lovely place with a serenity to it that makes it a first choice for a party or a wedding, or any special occasion that would requires accommodating a large gathering.” The third award recipient is the Kilaga Café located in the Kilaga Springs Lodge. The café is a popular spot for casual morning and lunchtime dining, either inside the café, itself, or outdoors on the patio surrounded by water features and Asian-inspired landscaping. Many of the guests who enjoy the café’s menu and ambience appreciate the focus on healthy selections, but the café is also noted for its decadent pastries and desserts.
Bob Cook, Executive Director, is very pleased with the voters’ recognition of the public venues at the Sun City Lincoln Hills and expressed appreciation for those who took the time to vote in KCRA’s A-List competition and also for the catering and restaurant staffs. “We are honored by the awards, and are fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented staff of professionals who treat each customer as a valued business partner and member of the family. We serve our homeowners, their guests, and the general public, and we realize how fortunate we are to have such responsive customers.”
