Discover a Mystery - California Sisters in Crime Come to Lincoln
On Friday, September 17, 2010, the Lincoln Public Library welcomes three Northern California Authors. Come hear Susan Shea, Patricia E. Canterbury, and Nan Mahon speak about their newest books. Everyone is welcome to ask questions about writing, reading, and mysteries. Following the talk, the authors’ books will be available for sale and signing. A brief biography of each author follows.
Susan C. Shea's debut mystery novel, Murder In The Abstract, is the first in a series starring Danielle O'Rourke, the chief fundraiser for a fictional museum in San Francisco. Follow Dani from San Francisco to the arts community of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Susan is on the board of the northern California chapter of Mystery Writers of America, and is a member of Sisters in Crime and Romance Writers of America. She lives in Sausalito, California. Patricia E. Canterbury, a native of Sacramento and an award-winning poet and short story writer, introduces us to Nancy Noire, in Every Thursday, the first of adult mystery series set in Washington State. Pat’s also writes Children’s books including, The Secret of St. Gabriel’s Tower and Carlotta’s Secret, the first of The Delta Mysteries. An independent movie studio has optioned Carlotta’s Secret. Featured in over twelve anthologies, Patricia is active with Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, Northern California Publishers and Authors, the Society of Children’s Writers and Illustrators and ZICA Creative Arts and Literary Guild. www.patmyst.com
Nan Mahon is the author of the mystery, Blind Buddy and Mojo's Blues Band. Her other works include Pink Pearls and Irish Whiskey and Junkyard Blues. A member of Sisters in Crime and a contributor to the Capitol Crimes anthology, she is currently a staff writer for Senior Magazine and was formerly a feature writer for the Sacramento Bee and the lifestyle editor for the Elk Grove Citizen. Nan teaches creative writing classes for the Elk Grove Unified School District Adult Education program. She organizes author's events for libraries and produces a free beginning writer’s workshop at the Elk Grove Public Library every April. www.nanmahon.com
